Scripture: Proverbs 31:10-31
Recently I was given an assignment to write about a person from the Bible that I admired or identified with. I have been reading Proverbs for 31days now and am finishing the last chapter and found the passage about a wife of noble character (written above). I admire and strive to become a woman such as this.
God has given us an outline on how to be a wife of noble character. These are goals to work towards achieving. I have highlighted the ones that stood out to me. I challenge you to read, pray and make your own goal list from the passage above. What will your list include? Write it in your journal and review it frequently. We are not perfect but we can strive to become more of what God desire us to be by following his leading and instruction.
v Be supportive of my spouse that he has full confidence in me.
v Bring my spouse and family good, not harm, all the days of my life.
v Work with eager hands.
v Set about my work vigorously and complete my tasks.
v Don’t let my lamp go out! (So often I don’t take the time to recharge my batteries physically, mentally or spiritually. You cannot overflow to others if you’re not full!)
v Open my arms to the poor and extend my hand to the needy.
v Have strength and dignity in every situation that I find myself in. Be a shining example of God’s love for others through my attitude and behavior choices.
v Don’t worry about the days to come. They belong to the Lord and are in His control. Worrying doesn’t do anything!
v Watch over the affairs of my family.
v Do not eat the bread of idleness.
v Fear the Lord and obey His commands.
Lord, may it be said that my children and husband considered themselves blessed by my words, actions, behavior and influence. Not for my vanity but because they have seen You through me and have been uplifted and guided to Your love because of my obedience and love for you.
