#Proverbs: Chapter One – Don’t Be A Fool

I have started an new bible reading program with www.momstoolbox.com. I enjoyed the Bible in 90 days so much I thought I would give Proverbs in 31 days a shot!

The program started on 11-11-11 but I ran out of time to blog yesterdays reading so I’m doing that now. Today’s reading blog will be posted later this evening! Also I will be using the S.O.A.P method (see sidebar for more info) to help through this journey of Proverbs blogging!

Scripture:
Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Observation:
True knowledge and wisdom can only come form the Lord. You can receive this knowledge through walking with Him and hearing his voice. How can you hear his voice? Some people tell of  actually hearing his voice audibly. I have not been that fortunate. I hear him through immersing myself in his word, being obedient to Him and fearing Him. Not the BOO kind of fear but a respect and love for him, his power, and his commands.
A person who does not seek his knowledge and instruction makes themselves a fool!

Application:
Don’t be a fool! Hide his word in your heart, hear his calling, follow his instruction and seek his guidance and wisdom.Fear the Lord and respect him. Stand in awe of Him!

Prayer:
Lord help me to seek your wisdom and knowledge and rely on you for instruction. Lord help me not to be a fool but to fear you and your commands!
