#GodChicks Day 12: Who are you trying to be?

Psalm 139:14-16

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret lace, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

We praise God because we are individually and lovingly handcrafted! Everything He does is wonderfully perfect and we have evidence of that. We were formed before His eyes in our mother’s womb. You have known my days even before they came to pass. You are all knowing and seeing.

“It is a powerful truth. If more of us had a clear picture of how wonderfully we were made, then perhaps we would spend less time trying to be someone else. I finally had a moment when God challenged me. I felt Him saying, “Those women are doing great at being who they are. I don’t need you to be them. What I need is for you to become who it is I called you to be.””

Who are you today? Are you being who God created you to be or are you trying to shove yourself into someone else’s mold? God created each one of us to be a unique and individual creation. He equipped each of us with a special talent to use for Him.  There is only one of you and you are an absolute, one of a kind, unique version of God himself. We were all created in his image and for his purpose! No one else can fulfill the role that God intended for you. Remember that God doesn’t make mistakes and he made you so you are precious and priceless. Embrace who you are and strive to be a better version of yourself. Try to fully develop the gifts and talents God gave you and use them for His glory.

Daily Step:

Head over to the mirror right now, look at your wonderfully unique face, and say, “Wow… thank you, God, for making me just the way you did!”

Lord, thank you for creating me in your image. Help me to embrace who you created me to be and use the talents and gifts you have given me to Your glory! Amen
