#GodChicks Day 13: Who’s lane are you running in?

Scripture:

I am your Creator. You were in my care even before you were born. Israel, don’t be terrified! You are my chosen servant, my very favorite.

Observation:

God is our Creator! He loved us even before we were born. Do not be scared because He chooses us!

Application:

“One thing I’ve noticed about sprinters is that each of them must run in his or her own lane. In fact, the sprinters would get disqualified if they decided to run in someone else’s lane. And yet I wonder how many of us are trying to get through life running in someone else’s lane? “

Each of us has a God given talent or gift. It is the thing that God handpicked us to do for Him.  We are supposed to use that special thing for his glory. When we reject his calling for us we are telling God that he made a mistake and gave us the wrong talent or gift. Since we know that God doesn’t make mistakes we are in fact calling him a liar! So instead of trying to fulfill someone else’s calling or purpose, embrace your gift and use it for Him!

As parents, it is up to us to allow our children to discover what that special gift/talent is that God gave them. We can do this through prayer and encouragement. We also need to train and allow them to use that gift for God. Teach them that it is ok to be themselves and that they don’t have to follow in “societies” mold. That they are special and unique creations handpicked and made by God. Allow them to experiment and try new hobbies. Teach them not to conform to the world because we are not of the world. But give them opportunities to blossom in God’s world.

Daily Step:

Write down three things you are great at…and one thing you are passionate about.

Prayer:

Lord, show what your calling is for me. Help me to find areas where you want me to use my gifts and talents for your glory. Help me to allow my children to discover what your will is for them. Amen
