#GodChicks Day 16: Be honest with yourself!

Scripture:

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Observation:

God has plans for each of us. He is concerned about our welfare and wants the best for us. He wants to give us hope and peace for our futures. He holds us in his hands!

Welfare – health, happiness, and good fortune; well-being.

Peace – inner contentment; serenity.

Hope – to look forward to with confidence or expectation.

Application:

“God gets blamed for quite a bit of hurt. But I want to tell you…the God we serve is good. He loves us…unconditionally…regardless of whether we will ever love Him or not. It doesn’t matter where you have come from or what you have done…God’s plans for you have not and will not change. Never believe anything less!”

It is easy to get into the mindset that we are being punished and that God doesn’t want to bless us because we feel we are not blessing worthy. Well, the fact is that we aren’t! But that doesn’t matter. We are saved through faith and not through works. There is nothing we can do to earn God’s love or blessings except to accept them. He loved us before we loved Him, even when we were (and always will be) sinners. The difference is that when we confess we open our door to Him. He cannot dwell where evil dwells! So we must clean out our hearts and minds to allow him to transform us. You are worth that much to Him and He wants to be among you.

Daily Steps:

Be honest with yourself…do you really believe that God’s plans for you are health, happiness, good fortune, well-being, inner contentment and serenity? The Bible says they are. Are you willing to believe it?

Prayer: Please help us to realize your love for us and to take action to allowing you to dwell among us. Help us to flee from sin and turn to you for our joy!
