#GodChicks Day 17: A New Creation!

Scripture:

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:The old has gone, the new is here!

Observation:

If a person is engrafted in Christ who is the Messiah, they are a new creation altogether. The previous self has passed away and a fresh new self has come to replace it!

 Application:

We have all made mistakes. We have all missed it!!!! We can be our own worst enemy sometimes. We can load ourselves down with such a burden of guilt and self-doubt that we force ourselves to spiral even further downward into sin and despair. This is the exact feeling and attitude Satan wants us to have. The father of lies wants us to believe that we are worthless and unable to resist temptation. He wants us to have self-doubt and inadequacy issues. When we are down we can’t minister and uplift others. We can’t overflow if we aren’t filled. We aren’t bringing others into Christ’s kingdom. We are letting evil win in our lives.

But God’s word gives us the truth and it says that all we have to do is be in Him. That ANYONE can be engrafted as part of His body and that will make them a new creation. Regardless of the past, what they did last week, if they put their faith in Him they are changed in to something new and fresh. The sins and struggles of yesterday don’t have to continue to trip you up. Your faith and reliance on Jesus make you clean, whole and pure. Don’t let anyone especially the enemy tell you you’re not good enough. The fact is that none of us are good enough, but through Jesus we are redeemed. With him we can live a life that is pleasing and honorable to Him.

The hard part is now believing that this is true and DAILY re-committing to His love, power, guidance, etc… Allowing Him to daily mold and make you!

Daily Step:

Thank God that you are not who you used to be. Describe the new creation that you are now…write down (maybe use words like forgiven, healed, free from ______, full of love, patient, and so forth).

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for the ability to run to you and your saving grace. Thank you for allowing me to be a new creation. Help me to seek you daily and abide in your truth! Thank you for making me a new creation and help me to rely on your grace and mercy to forgive others.
