On a sheet of paper, write down something that you are worrying about. Now, take that paper and hold it up as if you are offering it to God, and say something like this: “I let go of this worry, Father, trusting that you will take care of it.” Now, throw that piece of paper in the trash. And don’t take it back out! You have given it to your Father, and He is more than capable of handling it.
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Worry is useless, in fact it is counterproductive. Worry only makes the situation worse by giving you a false assurance that you are doing it on your own. Instead of wasting you time and energy with this mindset, God tells us to give it to him in prayer! Let him do the dirty work and he will give you his peace which is beyond anything we can ever understand. He will take over by guarding our hearts and minds when we abide in him. We sometimes forget that everything is possible for him. He is the all-knowing and all powerful God!
Turn our worries into prayers and look to God for our deliverance. Take the position of prayer and worship instead of trying to fight the battle alone. Then once you’ve done this let him keep it. I have a bad humanly habit of “giving it to God” but still wanting to hold onto a corner of it and continuing to worry. Don’t take it back just let Him have it and move on basking in His peace and love. We can’t do it alone but in him all things are possible. He can do whatever it takes so cast your fears away!
Father, thank you for this scripture and the assurance that you are with me. You have the power to do all things. Help me to turn my worries over to you and release control so that I may gain your peace. I turn over my family, health and other worries to you. Take control and release your peace to me. Guard me with your love and grace. Amen
