#GodChicks Day 23: I’m a Princess!

Scripture:

Psalm 45:9

Kings’ daughters are among your honorable women.

Observation:

I (and all women) am a honorable, thriving, preciously fashioned, loved-beyond-measure daughter of the King!

Application:

God is not afraid of the messes that surround you. Maybe you feel unloved. You could have been abandoned, mistreated, abused. Maybe you still are. Perhaps no one in the world has extended a hand of compassion toward you. Doesn’t matter… God always comes to the rescue. He steps into the middle of your mess, grabs your hand, causes you to grow, to flourish… to change. He has made an unbreakable covenant with you by calling you his own.”

Even when our mistakes and short comings are too great for us to bear, God sees us as His child. A child of the King! He can look past all of the “failures” we have made and look into the child he created and can help us return to being. He sees past our smoke and mirrors and sees our true self and he loves us. He loves us so much that he gave us Jesus. He made a way for us to be washed and cleaned of our wrong doings so that we may see ourselves as he does. A princess and daughter of the almighty king of kings!

Daily Step:

Ok…this might seem weird, but do it anyway. Find a crown, any crown…Burger King, plastic costume or full on rhinestone…and put it on your head. Just for a few moments, get a look at how God truly sees you (don’t forget to take it off before you go to work!).

Prayer:

Lord, help me embrace my inner princess. Help me to see myself as you do without all my self-doubt and insecurities. Help me to see your love for me and allow you to use your grace to wash me clean. Thank you for sending Jesus to us so that we may experience your redemption. Amen
