#GodChicks Day 24: Whose team are you on?

Scripture:

Psalm 16:5-6

Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure. The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.

Observation:

My choice is You, Lord. You are the one that I put my hope in. You have also chosen me. You have prepared a place for me in your kingdom and have taken me in as your child. I have and will continue to receive my inheritance from you.

Application:

“The good news is that God chose you first! He did not sigh and then say, “OK, I guess I have to have you.” No way. He looked right at you and wanted you on His side. He created you with your gifts, abilities, and talents, knowing that his team would be lacking if you weren’t on it. Then, beyond making you a team member, he made you His heir… and gave you a share of the inheritance.”

Each of us has our strengths and weaknesses. God designed us to all work together for his kingdom and when one of us is missing the whole team struggles. God is also a God of mercy and grace. He can forgive us and welcome us back into his kingdom if we humble ourselves and submit to him and his plan for us. He cares deeply about each of us and yearns for the lost to return home. He has orchestrated a support system for us through fellow believers to keep us accountable and one the right team. Many of us doubt our God given abilities and worry about stumbling or looking like fools. That is Satan working among us. We are to lift each other up not only in prayer but through encouragement also even before we see them struggling.

Daily Step: What do you think you bring to God’s team?

Prayer:

Lord, help us to accept our place on your team. Help us to follow your play book and us our talents and abilities to further your kingdom. Help us to encourage each other before we see struggles. Amen
