#GodChicks Day 7: Love Letter #2!

Scripture:

Psalm 118:1

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.

Observation:

In everything praise the Lord and give Him thanks. He is good and loving always and forever.

Application:

“Page after page reveals God’s love for us. God is not mad at you! He loves you with a love beyond compare. You will discover His love as you read His word. God so greatly loved the world that he sent Jesus to pay the price for our failings (John 3:16). God is love and there is nothing we can do to separate us from that abiding, ever passionate love! (1John 4:16 & Romans 8:38). The more I read God’s word, the more convinced I am of His constant love for us. As I read story after story after story of Jesus healing the sick, I feel loved and know that His healing is available to me, too. I read that if He cares for the sparrows, He certainly cares for me (Matthew 10:29). I read that God proves His love for me by the fact that while I was still a sinner, He offered His Son as a sacrifice (Romans 5:8). And His definition of love is not the definition the world uses. The love found in the world is perhaps temporal and easily offended… but not the love that our father offers us. His love never fails. His love is patient. His love is forgiving. His love is eternal. He will NEVER stop loving us! Ever.”

Yesterday we read about God’s love letter to us and again today we find examples of his love for us. We return that love through reading His word, accepting Him and passing His love to others. He modeled the love that we should have for others through His love for us. Just as His love is never failing, patient, forgiving, and eternal. That is how our love for others is to be also. It is sometimes easy to accept His love for us but not so easy to offer that love from us. It seems that those who are closes to us are the hardest to love. We are kind and gentle to strangers but have a different attitude when dealing with parents, spouses, or children. They seem to get the left overs! Well His message to us is LOVE! No matter what they have done, said, not done, or not said. LOVE!!!!!!!

Daily Step: Say out loud, “I am loved by my Father in heaven with a love that is beyond compare. He will never stop loving me.” “In turn I must love others in the same way!”

Prayer:

Thank you for your unfailing and eternal love. Thank you for the reassurance that I will never be separated from that love. Help me, in turn, to show that love to others (Especially the ones closest to me). May I be your love and light to the world around me!

  1. I want to let you know that we love you. More importantly, I want to assure you that the girls and I never, ever feel like we get your love “left-overs!” If anything it is usually the other way around. You are a true model of putting others before you and I again want to tell you THANK YOU and I LOVE YOU TOO!
