Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.
Express our love to the Lord with gladness! Come before him in worship.
I love music so the “joyful songs” part is right up my alley. Some however don’t. But does that mean that they can’t worship him? Of course not, worship is expressing love to our God and it can come in many forms.
One way to worship God is to just know who he is and declare it! Just like yesterday when we talked about having a thankful heart, we must be purposeful in having a worshiping heart. Just because I like to sing doesn’t mean that my heart is always in it when I do. Our intention is what God counts not the product! We can sing the most beautiful song but if we are doing it to glorify ourselves instead of God then it sounds like rubbish to him. We can be off key and out of tune but with a grateful worshiping heart and God hears the most beautiful symphony ever written!
Knowing God and being his “reflector” to others is the purist form of worship. Glorifying God in all that we do, whether it is changing diapers, washing dishes, or a corporate job, etc… Our attitude of gratitude gives Him great satisfaction. He will reward you with peace that only he can give!
Right now…out loud…thank God for being your peace. Thank Him for bringing peace into your marriage, your family, your heart and your mind.
Our Father, in heaven, hallowed is your name. You are Wonderful, Counselor, Prince of Peace, Everlasting Father and Almighty God! Thank you for your faithfulness and comfort. You are my Peace!
