Commit To The Lord Whatever You Do!

Scripture:

Proverbs 16:3

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.

Proverbs 21:5

The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.

Observation:

Put God in charge of your work, then what you’ve planned will take place.

Careful planning puts you ahead in the long run; hurry and scurry puts you further behind.

Application:

These verses are not saying that if you do what God wants he will do what you want. This is not a “Scratch His back and He’ll scratch yours” relationship. But if we truly follow God and his plan for our lives, He will direct your paths to His plans. Which aligns your wants with His wants.

Whatever we do we must commit it to Him and do it for His glory alone. If we try to do it solely for the enjoyment of others or to bring glory to ourselves it will surely fail. We will run out of steam and fall flat on our faces. But when we commit it to Him and follow his plan he will use us to bring glory and honor to his name. He will give us the endurance to keep serving.

I have always believed in being organized and following a schedule or plan. It most defiantly will get us ahead and keep us from scurrying behind. The key is to do the pre-flight check with the Most High! Make sure that He is in it and you are doing it for the right reasons.

Prayer:

Lord, lead me, direct my paths that I might bring you glory and honor through my obedience. Lord help me to do everything in your name and for your kingdom. Help me to seek you for my directions. Forgive me for the times I have wanted the spotlight and not shown it on you. Help me to have the strength and energy to follow out your callings. Amen

Just a side note. I saw this video posted yesterday and wanted to share. It is a spoken word about the modern proverbs 31 women. We are called to a higher standard and we are women of a different status! I especially recommend this for young women and teenagers.
