Homeschool Weekly Wrap-Up: Summer School Ideas!

In Our Homeschool This Week….

Nothing!!!!!!! We took the week of (we are actually done with lessons).  We used it as a planning week for summer fun school. I did stumble onto a great site while looking for a scavenger hunt printable, thanks to pintrest. (Which I am so glad that I joined, I LOVE Pintrest!!!!!!) The site is It is full of great ideas and pintables. We made three of the “summer crafts” found here:

The girls have already used the “I’m Bored” Jar and can’t wait to use the other two.  (I also found some really neat homemade Father’s Day gift ideas on this site. But we will save that for another post. I don’t want to ruin the surprise!)

“Fib Flab” game!

Getting ready to pick from the “I’m Bored” jar!

I also have started compiling an In-A-Bag swap.  If you are unfamiliar with these check out . We are using these in place of “summer school”. They are fun activities that all have either a reading or math lesson while playing games. I can’t wait to get started using them!!!! We used the pre-school activities in the past and I’m so glad they have books for older children also.

Just a few of the bags I quickly put together!

In Our Lives This Week…

Alyssa had her first “Blast Ball” practice. Her first game is Monday. Audrey had her first actual T-Ball game and did a great job. After the game we asked her if she had fun and she said “Yes, but I learned a lesson”. We asked her what that lesson was and she replied “I need to pay attention to the ball!” This was a correct lesson since they stuck her on first base and she just talked to the other team in the dug-out the entire inning! Hahaha But what can you expect for a 5 yr. old. She did do a terrific job hitting the ball though!

We have a super busy weekend ahead of us. Tonight we have another ball practice. Saturday morning we have dance recital dress rehearsal. Sunday we have to skip church due to the actual dance recital followed by a celebration of graduations and dance recital family gathering at our house. Whew, I’m tired just writing about it!

Well I hope you all have had a great week and I look forward to reading all about your adventures! Have a blessed weekend!

  1. We have an “I’m Bored” jar too. It comes in very handy when little ones come to you saying “I’m bored, there is nothing to do!”
Stopping by from HSMJ! Thanks for stopping by.

  2. Oh, T-ball and 5-year-old olds…such fun times! My daughter was always the little girl out in the field with a mitt on one hand and a bunch of dandelions in the other…and my youngest was always digging in the dirt in the infield. LOL

You’re weekend IS busy, but I bet it’ll be a blast too! Enjoy it! And then rest on Monday! LOL

    Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Oooh! Activity bags and I’m bored jars sound like wonderful ideas! Thanks so much for the resources. I look forward to checking them out for my children! Glad you had a good week! Thanks for visiting my blog and for your kind comments. Have a wonderful weekend. Many blessings, Lisa 🙂
