She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.
For the Lord will be at your side and will keep your foot from being snared.
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
She faces tomorrow with a smile on her face. She doesn’t worry about the things to come. She knows that God is just as much in the future as he was in the past and is in the present. She follows the leading of the “Shepherd” who is our Lord! He will protect her and be by her side. She is strong and carries herself with dignity.
Dignity: 1) The state or quality of being worthy of honor or respect. 2) A composed or serious manner or style.
Strength: 1) The quality or state of being strong in Christ. 2) Physical and Spiritual power and energy. (Ok I am amending this definition!)
1. She is clothed with strength and dignity. Our actions and attitude are our true clothing. It is not about what we wear materially, but about how we present ourselves to others. Do you present yourself as a strong dignified woman or as a beat up rag? Again it is not about what we “wear” but about how we choose to see ourselves. Do we allow God to be our strength? Do you have confidence in yourself and stand tall and proud about the things God has helped you accomplish? Or do you choose to focus on your failures and beat yourself up over every mistake you have ever made? Remember that the past is forgiven and begin holding yourself to a standard of grace not perfection! That is how we cloth ourselves with honor and respect. We let go of our faults and focus on our strengths and talents that come from Christ Jesus himself. Let go and start seeing yourself as Christ sees you, a strong dignified woman with grace and confidence, worthy of receiving honor and respect! If there is something holding you down confess and receive His forgiveness and allow Him to re-create you as His child.
2. She laughs at the days to come. Ok now that we have covered the first order of business, we can relax! When we relinquish our pasts, presences, and futures to him. We can stop the worry game! For we know who holds our future, and we know who holds our hand! We don’t have to worry about the things of tomorrow because he is already there! He is pathing the way for us. We just need to make sure that we are following the path he pathed. It is when we stop relying on him and start blazing our own trail that we find ourselves stuck in the mud. He is with us and will protect us. Even when life isn’t “easy” he is there helping us along the way. We can trust and rely on him. He will never leave us or forsake us. Put your hope in him!
Lord, thank you for your love and forgiveness. Thank you for allowing us to have a re-do (or more). Thank you for being with us and protecting us. Help us to submit to you and your will for us. I praise you for all the things you have done to guide and direct my path. Help me to see myself as you see me. Help me to forgive myself and others as you have forgiven. Amen
