“Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.”
“Many women have done wonderful things, but you’ve outclassed them all!”
At first today’s scripture kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. My initial thought was, wow, that’s pretty bold to claim that you are the best and have surpassed or outclassed all the others. Isn’t that the complete opposite of what we are suppose to do. In fact there is scripture in James 4:10 that reads, “humble yourself before the Lord and He will lift you up.”
But then I realized that is exactly what happened. A Proverbs 31 women would never lift herself up and let pride get the best of her. But because of her immeasurable faithfulness and obedience God lifted her up to high positions and power. All the way she remained humble and gave glory to the Most High. She never wanted to be in the spot light but that is where God placed her and she gave Him the praise in return.
Are you standing in the spot light? If so, How did you get there? Was it because God place you into it and you are whole heartedly serving Him with your gifts and talents? or Is it because you wanted the glory? Remember that God puts people in power for a reason and he also removed them. He is the one who is ultimately in charge and when we acknowledge that and humble ourselves before him he will lift us up. Only then can we truly be used for Him and His glory. Again, isn’t that the ultimate goal, that we could be instruments for his kingdom? I can think of no greater honor than to be a faithful servant of the Most High God and have him use me!
Lord, thank you for revealing your word. Thank you for it’s truth even when it is hard to swallow. I praise you and give you all the gory, honor and power. Thank you for using me for your kingdom. I am so blessed by your graciousness and faithfulness. Amen
I have two videos to share today that relate to today’s reading. Use them to worship and bring your heart back to where it needs to be!
