Are You Growing God’s Way?

Scripture Reading – Luke 2:36-40
S.O.A.P. Reading – Luke 2: 40

Scripture:
And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on him.

Observation:
Even though Anna could have given up or gotten caught up in her own sadness and life. She choose to give God her remaining days and worship him. Because of her obedience and choice she was blessed with the chance to meet the King. Because of her closeness with God she was also able to recognize that this child was from Him.

The Child became strong and grew. He was full of wisdom and God was with him. He was devoting himself to God.

Application:
It is easy for us to think that the Son of God would grow the way God intended. In wisdom and stature (see Luke 2:52)

But what about us? We often find many excuses why we are not growing to God. Time, schedule, kids, sickness, depression, etc… But we often also forget that because of Jesus we are now Children of God! We have become the same blood line as Christ himself. Adopted children and ayers to the throne. We have become brothers and sisters to Christ.

So we are out of excuses. If we are not growing God’s way we are not growing at all. We can only grow to him by searching his word, devoting time to prayer, fasting and fellowship with others in Christ. Make time and not excuses. Dive into his presence and he will greatly bless you as he did Anna by revealing His Son in your life!

Prayer:
Lord, I thank you for your adoption. I thank you and praise you for being my Father and King. Help me to make you the true priority in my life that I may grow in the wisdom and stature of you! Amen
