Do You Have A Missed Call?

Scripture Reading: Luke 1:26-38
S.O.A.P. Scripture: Luke 1:37-38

Scripture: (Luke 1:37&38 MSG Translation)

Nothing, you see, is impossible with God. And Mary said, Yes, I see it all now: I am the Lord’s maid, ready to serve. Let it be with me just as you say. Then the angel left her.

God doesn’t have limits to what he can do. He is not confined to rules or to the confines of our minds. He is LIMITLESS!!!! But are we?….. This scripture reminds us that we are as long as we are yielding to the power and calling of God. Mary obeyed her calling and submitted herself to Gods will 100% without reservation or holding back of anything. Her reply to the angels seemingly unbelievable statement was “I’m ready to serve” with heart, soul, mind, body & spirit. I’m all in!

Do you have a “Missed Call”? Is there an area that you haven’t surrendered to Christ? Something you are holding back from him? A calling you are not answering?

This idea can go two ways….

First, is there a secret sin, unforgiving  doubt, worry, hurt, etc… that you are not releasing to Him and surrendering to His power? Is there something that you refuse to let go of that is acting as a separation between you and the thrown of God? Today is the day to LET IT GO! Lay it at His feet, repent and allow his healing power to restore you. TRUST in Him and He will not fail you. He is already with you asking and waiting for you to return to His grace and protection. Even when seemingly bad things happen in our lives (by our own doing or someone else’s) His promise that he will never leave or forsake us holds true.

Second, Is there an area of God’s minister that you are running from? Like Jonah and the Big fish, is God calling you to minister to someone or in some way and you are completely avoiding the issue all together? In fact are you running away from Him?

Just as the title of our series implies, we must leave our comfort zones and walk in faith. We must trust that he will give us what is needed to fulfill the calling. Just like Moses, Jonah, Elijah, Elisha, Mary, John, Peter, Paul…. (The list could go on and on) He will also provide for you.

I think that we sometimes get the impression that all the saints and great servants that come before us had no fear, doubt or reservation. That they were equip with a superpower. Something that we don’t have in us. That they were more fit for the task then we could ever be. That is Satan and his lies deterring us from doing something great for the kingdom of God! Don’t fall into that trap! God will provide!!!! Just as he did Mary in today’s reading!!!

God provides the POSSIBLE in impossible!!!!!

Lord, help us to be sold out servants for you. Help us to let go of all the excuses and walls that we put up trying to run away from your truth and calling. Give us a spirit like Mary, willing and ready, to be your servant. Let it be as you say! Amen

    • Thanks Lana. This study is opening up new insights for me. We usually just read it as the “Christmas Story” but rarely dig deep into meditation and prayer through it. Thanks for stopping by to read my ramblings!
