Homeschool Weekly Wrap-up: Blood & Guts, Oh My!

This week in our homeschool…
Monday and Tuesday were off days for us, not necessarily planned. My middle daughter who struggles with bladder and kidney problems came down with another bad infection so we were in and out of doctor’s offices and hospital doing tests. Luckily my mom came to the rescue and school my oldest Monday and Daddy helped out on Tuesday.
By Wednesday we were back on schedule and feeling a little better. She was actually asking to do school work anyway!
We started our Human Body science unit this week and are having a blast! I will be updating a master page if you want to keep up with this unit.
So far we have done the intro and traced ourselves to make our “My Body” models to build on as we go.
We completed the lesson on the Brain and have it added to our models.
Today we learned about the Heart and Blood. They really enjoyed all the neat experiments and illustrations for this lesson! Here is our blood model!
We have also had lots of reading, writing and math happening.
The baby decided that she wanted to “do school” with us more than just her usual coloring so I made up some color matching cards and pom sorting to keep her entertained. She hasn’t quite got the hang of it yet but it will come!  She is really growing up fast!
What’s cooking’ good looking’…
This week recipe of the week was Chicken Pot Pie Cupcakes with Mashed Potato Frosting! A great recipe to get even the littlest cooks involved!
Other going on’s…
I’m excited to start a brand new Good Morning Girls Bible study over the book of Luke! There is still time to join in! I am leading a Facebook again and you can get in on the fun here!
Hope you all had a great week and continue to have a blessed weekend!
