In Our Homeschool This Week…
We worked a lot on money. A concept both my older girls are struggling with. Not so much the idea that money = stuff, but more what money = what stuff. I found some great resource games via Pintrest this week and we have been trying them out. “Money Bingo”, “Race to a Quarter” & “Piggy Race” have been big hits!
We have also continued our “Human Body” science unit that we began last week.
This week we covered “The Bladder and Kidneys” & “Cells”. Here are some photos from our experiments.
|Audrey pouring our “waste” into our “kidney”.|
|Alyssa observing how much “waste” the “kidney” filtered out
and how clean it made our “blood”.

Other Studies Of The Week…
We are very involved in a children’s Bible study at our church called Quizzing. This year we are studying the book of Acts. Every 5 lessons we have a quiz within our district and this weekend is one of those weekends. The children study and then go and compete to see what they remember. There is also a memory challenge for each lesson. So far we have gotten up to lesson 15, meaning we have 15 memory verses and many many questions. We have spent much time preparing for the big event this week.
This week’s recipe of the week was “Italian Breakfast Wraps”.
I also made Paula Dean’s “Gooey Butter Cake” which is defiantly a keeper! (but only if your not dieting haha)
I am really loving my Bible study of Luke and have had some great discussion with my group of ladies over it!
Audrey, my oldest has come down with a double ear infection so we have had another week of doctors visits! She is feeling much better now but still has a little cough.
We also heard back from the specialists on Alyssa (middle daughter). Her kidney looked better than the last scan but still has an area of concern. Her infection seems to be cleared up but she will re-test today to be sure. She is feeling much better as evidenced by her freestyle dancing in this video haha!
I hope you all have a very blessed week to come! Check back next week to see what we have been up to!
