I have been brainstorming (via Pintrest) to find a special way to let the girls know how much we love and appreciate them as individuals. So often my older girls especially, get lumped into one big group of thank you’s. We have tried to separate them and each of us do something together without the other siblings but as kind hearted and inseparable as they are, the others usually get invited along. They also love hearing from daddy event though he is away at work.
I found an idea for a magnetic chore board and have adapted it to just be a message station for each child. I have hung them outside their bedroom doors and they are able to leave messages for us & eachother, as well as receive messages!
It was fairly easy and very cheap! I found the cookie sheets at the dollar store and used the paint left over from last years New School Desk project. I painted each sheet with chalkboard paint and let it dry over night. Then I measured and cut scrapbook paper from my stash to fit along the bottoms. Spray adhesive worked well for attaching them. Next you may modge podge over the paper to help protect it during use. Then I found some scrap ribbons from our art cart that matched the color schemes and adhered it with craft glue. I used magnets and chalk that I had already purchased via the dollar store. Taadaa!!!! Personal Magnetic Message Boards!
