Homeschool Weekly Wrap-up: Hearts, Ashes and Salsa!

This week in our Homeschool…
We have done our regular work as well as studied for a Bible quiz that is happening this weekend. I am so proud of my 1st grader! She knows all 20 of the required memory verses and knows most of the answers to the questions over the entire book of Acts.
Wednesday we focused on Ash Wednesday and kicking off Lent. I am so proud of my girls. This is the first year they are making sacrifices and participating in the meatless Friday’s. They are really getting into the spirit of seeking Jesus!

I found some great lent resources and mini lessons on-line! They are good resources wether you are Catholic or not!
Thursday we celebrated Valentines Day and Daddy surprised us by sending flowers/balloons to all of us!
Audrey with her flowers.

Mommy’s flowers.

Ashlee with her candy and balloon.

Alyssa and her flowers.
We also made valentines cookies and “stained glass” hearts.
We tore up colored tissue paper and stuck it to contact paper. Then cut them our in the shape of hearts.

Over the weekend Hubby and I visited and open market and picked up the supplies to make salsa. So I also canned Salsa this week. I think we will use the remaining peppers to make jam with. Anyone have a recipe suggestion?

I hope you all had and continue to have a blessed week! Thanks for stopping by The Hoggatt Homeschool!

  1. Looks like a wonderful week! I love all of the photos. 🙂 Way to go to your daughter on learning all of her verses! Wow! That is an awesome feat at her age. Love the flowers and candy, too. My hubby surprised our daughter and myself, as well. Hope you have a great weekend. Many blessings, Lisa
