Recipe of the Week: Pork Chops and Rice

Yesterday I began a 6 wk juice/smoothie fast in order to try and allow my body to naturally heal itself so this is what my “meals” will look like for the next 6 wks. This one happens to be pineapple, orange, mango, spinach and mint.
Photo: breakfast is served! yeah I know your dying of jealousy! haha! orange, pineapple, mango, lime, spinach and mint.
But the rest of my family still has to eat so I will be sharing the recipes that I cook for them haha!
This weeks recipe is Pork Chops and Rice. It is a quick and easy one pot meal!
Ingredients:
1 can french onion soup
1 can beef consomme
1 can water
4 pork chops
2 cups quick rice
salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste.
In baking dish sprinkle rice on the bottom. Pour beef consomme and water over rice. add salt and pepper and garlic powder.
Salt and pepper pork chops and lightly brown in skillet. place on top of rice mixture. Top with french onion soup.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until rice is tender and pork is cooked through. Stir rice once during cooking to evenly distribute the moisture.

  1. This looks delicious and seems relatively easy to prepare, which is welcome in our busy home! Good luck on your juice fast. I have been thinking about whether or not to try one myself. Thanks so much for linking up with “Try a New Recipe Tuesday.” I can’t wait to see what you share next week. 🙂 🙂 Many blessings, Lisa
