Recipe Of The Week: Candied Ginger Pieces

I know it has been awhile since I have posted. We have had a nasty bug chasing our family around. For once in several weeks I think we are ALL germ free! Bringing me to today’s recipe…

Candied Ginger Pieces

Ginger is a natural remedy for so many things and one of them is upset stomachs. I remember every time I was pregnant always sipping ginger ale or sucking on “preggo pops” with is a ginger candy. Well while I am NOT pregnant currently I have still been suffering from and upset tummy. So this time I’m going natural!

Ingredients:
Ginger – cut in desired sized pieces
1/2 c. local honey or more if desired
1 c. water
1 juice of fresh orange

Mix all in sauce pan and bring to lite boil. Continue to simmer for about 45 min. Strain out ginger and toss in sugar to keep from sticking together. Lay flat on waxed paper and dry for several days.

Reserve syrup for teas, flavored water or to add to favorite green smoothie! ( I added a bit more water to mine since it became very thick)

  1. I used ginger a lot while I was expecting, too! I am glad to hear that everyone is feeling better. Thanks so much for linking up with “Try a New Recipe Tuesday.” I look forward to seeing what you share this week. 🙂
