Top 10: Homeschool Items I Couldn’t Live Without!

Lately I have been thinking a lot about my favorite things. Everything from recipes, scriptures, toddler toys, DIY and Homeschool items. Things that I wouldn’t want to do without…I wanted to share these items with you. My “must haves'” lists! So I choose a “Top 10” format. Feel free to comment with your “Top 10’s” for each category Or categories you would like to know my “Top 10’s” in! I wrote my 1st official “Top 10” list on Mother’s Day “10 thing’s I wish I knew before I was a mother”. Today I am sharing items for stay at home or homeschool moms!

1. Encouraging Scriptures…

All scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equip for every good work.
 2 Timothy 3:16-17
We all have those go-to scriptures that life us up and help us regain our focus or encourage our hearts. We all need to be reminded of the big picture and why we do what we do. I have several favorites and could (and will) probably do a “Top 10” list just on them. haha! I think it is important to have a Family Mission Statement verse. Two favorites of mine are Proverbs 22:6 & Joshua 24:15b!
2. Planner…
It doesn’t matter if you have one child or eight…Home management is HARD! If you are like me if it isn’t written down it won’t get done. I am a list maker (obviously haha). I love my planner not just for the “lists” but also as a memory book of all the things that have been accomplished during the year. I record my children’s accomplishments and goals. It is fun to look back and see how far we have come as a family!

In addition to my planner I have a “Master Command Center”. A place where everyone can go and see what is happening that month, what needs done, where we are going and what we are eating! A one stop shop!
4. A Label Maker or Two…

I love my DYNO’s! I guess it is just the OCD in me!!!!haha
5. A Pintrest Account…
A place to store all your creative or hopeful projects. A way to search for fun, entertaining and/or educational projects. A place to get new and fresh ideas! For a long time I put off “joining” and now I LOVE it!!!! I get so much inspiration for recipes, crafts, gifts, photos and so much more!
6. Art Supplies…
Now that you have “pinned” all those crafty ideas what do you do???? Have a storage of ready to go art supplies for those impromptu or pre-planned projects. You forgot so-and-so’s birthday…no problem have the kids whip up a homemade card! Kids whining that their bored….have them get creative!
7. Hands On Research Books…
Don’t get me wrong…I love internet research. It’s fast and you can find almost anything, but, nothing beats a set of kids encyclopedias, bird books, flower guides and animal cards!
8. Noise Canceling Headphones…
Even the best Mama in the world needs a little R&R now and then! Stick Hubby in charge and put on the headphones. Escape to a place where it is quiet and calm!!!! Eat your “secret” chocolate, listen to your favorite non-kid songs, just be by yourself!!!!
9. A Special Support System…

SAHM or HSM is not for the faint at heart! Burn-out happens!!!!! The only way it works is if you have a strong support system in place. Whether family, friends or both!!!! Those days of not seeing or speaking to anyone over 4 ft. tall can start to weigh on you. You NEED adult conversations!!!! I am lucky to have a great family and great friends even if our visits are few and far between!!!!

10. A Sense of Humor & Good Old Fashion Cuddle Time!
Things happen!!! If you get to serious about life you forget what being a child is all about…Learning, Laughter and Fun! Being a SAHM/HSH is a way of “re-living” childhood in the best way possible! Seeing life through the eyes of your children! The best blessings anyone can ever ask for!!!!!
