This recipe is a childhood favorite of mine. My dad is a huge gardener and I always enjoyed helping him as a child. Now my girls get that same opportunity! They helped their papa plant a bunch of goodies this year and we are already reaping the benefits.
6 slices of bacon
2 T red wine vinegar (other vinegar will work)
1 T white sugar
Shred lettuce into serving bowl. Slice onions and radishes and mix into greens.
In pan cook bacon until crisp, remove and set aside. To the hot bacon grease add in sugar and vinegar. Continue cooking on med/low until warm and thickened.
Crumble bacon over lettuce mixture.
Toss salad mix with bacon dripping dressing.
Serve while still warm.
