I often joke that everyday is fireworks season here at The Hoggatt Homeschool! That is because my husband’s 2nd job/hobby is putting on fireworks shows.
But now the rest of the USA joins in the fun!
Here are a few ideas to help all ages join in the 4th of July fun…
Handprint / Footprint Flags: fairly self explanatory. Just paint hand and stamp. Then add shiny star stickers.
Fireworks at night creative art: Provide children with black or dark blue paper and a variety of other art resources like cupcake wrappers (big and small), tissue paper, glitter, metallic crayons, etc…
4th of July Word Wall: Have the children think of words that remind them of 4th of July. Write them out and post them on the wall. Then, challenge them to write a story using as many of them as they can!
Fireworks on a Plate: you have probably all seen this before, but it is still a hit with the kiddos! Pour some milk onto a plate. Place in a few drops of food coloring. Then, add a few drops of dish soap. Wallah… Fireworks on a plate!
