Crockpot Cranberry Applesauce

We have been studying apples in our Pre-K homeschool lessons. Today we all got involved in a fun cooking project that tied in perfectly! After playing a game of “Pass The Apple” (hot potato only with an apple) some fresh warm applesauce did the trick as a great snack!

The kiddos all got to help and the olders can follow this recipe almost by themselves!

Crockpot Cranberry Applesauce

The hardest part about making anything apples is the peeling, coring and slicing. However, with this gizzmo…Victorio VKP1010 Apple and Potato Peeler, Suction Base. It was fast and easy!!!!!

You don’t have to be a super hero to peel apples, but it sure helps! haha

Plus it made the apples fun to play with!

4 lb apples – peeled, cored & sliced

1/2 c. sugar

1/2 t. cinnamon

1/8 t. ground cloves

1 c. no sugar added cranberry juice

1 t. lemon juice

Peel, core, and slice apples.

Mix apples with spices and sugar. Place in crockpot. Pour cranberry juice and lemon juice over apple mixture.

Put lid on crockpot and set to high. Leave for 3-4 hrs, stirring occasionally.

Smash cooked apples and enjoy!
