Ham…It’s what’s for dinner!
I am in a super fall mood! Trying to hold off a little longer before I over the house in fake leaves and scarecrows, but that doesn’t mean I can fix some fall favorite foods!
One of my Hubby’s favorite fall foods is ham with pineapple and brown sugar glaze. Pair it with some butter fried sweet potatoes and mini marshmallows and he is in food heaven!
Since it still is a little hot outside (not saying that it is because it is still summer) I decided to tweak the recipe for the crockpot to avoid working the ac and heating up the house.
Here is the how to…
3-5 lb Cured Ham Roast or Cured Ham Steaks
1 reg can of Pineapple slices with juice
3/4 c. Brown Sugar
1/2 t. ground clove
1/2 t. fresh ginger – grated (or ground ginger)
Place ham in preheated crockpot. (Always pre-heat crockpot for food safety temps) Mix together juice from pineapple, brown sugar, clove and ginger. Pour mixture over ham. Top with pineapple slices. Keep crockpot on high for 3-4 hrs or on low for 4-6 hours. Ham will become tender and sweet!
