After seeing how much the kiddos liked painting with the clothes pins and poms in last week’s “Apple Orchard” craft I felt inspired to make up a quick game of Apple Picking.
It is super easy to put together and most of you probably have the supplies already on hand. The activity is also a sneaky way to practice fine motor skills such as pinch grip to improve writing.
What you need…
Fill one container with the poms. Leave the other empty so that student can transfer the “apples” to it.
Practice using pointer finger and thumb to open cloths pin.
Pick and apple and put it into the “basket”. Simple!
We are also using apples to practice our Pre-K counting with the “Apple Matching” game in September’s Fireflies pack from Funshine Express! This game was so easy to prepare. It just punches out of the printed sheet and the kids are ready to play. They all had a great time matching the seeds to the numbered apples. I was suprised at how fast they caught on to the counting and 1:1 matching.
