While the little kids are learning about playground fun the big Jitterbugs are having some more fun and games too!
They really enjoyed making this Catch a Bead game!
I like how Funshine uses simple materials and teaches the kids that they can be creative and use their imaginations and have just as good of time as technology can offer. This simple craft/game gave lots of entertainment!
The object is to swing the bead out and catch it with the cone!
Also included in the Jitterbug teacher guide is even more fun and game ideas. The girls picked out one to teach to their 4H club as recreation. I wish I would have snapped a photo because it was fun to watch them play and all ages got involved and had a blast!
Here is the game…
Have the children make a line kind of like a conga line or choo choo train where they hold the shoulders or waist of the person in front of them. The 1st person is the dragon head and the last person is the dragon tail. The dragon tail tucks a bandanna in their pocket/belt or I used a piece of elastic to create a belt. The dragon head then tries to catch the tail without breaking the line or dragon body apart.
You could also divide the children into teams and have them go after the other dragon tails too.
There are many other unplug games included in the teacher guide that are sure to be hits with the kids too! I can’t wait to try them out!!!!
